Loved Ones

Unconditional love is difficult to give.  To do so, one must overlook all the imperfections, the bumps and warts, the eccentricities of their loved ones.  This is not easy, but, some people come pretty close to loving unconditionally.  If you are very lucky, they will share the path with you.

Roger is one of the dearest, kindest and most loving men in the world. He is one of the primary people on my list of Those I know and Love. Roger is my partner in life, a cheerleader when I need encouragement, and wise counsel when I need a bit of Sophic advice.  Each morning begins with Roger greeting me with, "Good morning, beautiful!" Each evening ends with, "I am so blessed to have you in my life."  You know, it doesn't get much better than this!

My daughters are at the top of the list, too, as are my grandchildren.  Each is a gem like no other.  Each brings me such joy!

I would be remiss if I didn't add my dear, dear friend Barbara to the top of the list.  We have been friends since kindergarten.  Together we have shared life's ups and downs with humor, grace and sometimes good old fashioned kitchen table wisdom.  Barbara is my sister, my friend and my buddy.  We are kindred spirits that found each other early on in life and never lost sight of how special it is to have a friend that, no matter what, loves us.

There are many family members (You know who you are!!) that love me unconditionally, as I do them.  When we are together, we laugh so much our sides ache for days later.  Sometimes, we cry, or get angry or talk on and on about something that frustrates us, but we always end up laughing.  What a gift that is!

Finally, I have many friends who have blessed me with their love and support over the years.  Some I have only known for a short period, others have been in my life since childhood.  Some have lost touch with me over the years, but have found me through social networking! (I just love that.)  Some I have met through cyberspace.  We have not met physically, but we share our souls regularly, affirming each other and celebrating each others achievements.

Those we know and love make life precious.  As they say back up in Maine, "It's wicked good to know ya!"

About the Authors

One day two sisters decided to write a book together; what began as a blog became an award winning novel! Wicked Good is the first in the "Wicked" series.

Amy is the older sister and a full time family law attorney. She loves her 2 sons and nephew, dogs, volunteering at the Bangor Humane Society, being outdoors when it’s nice outside and indoors when it’s not.

Joanne is the younger and a full-time family mediator and Guardian Ad Litem. She loves her 3 nephews, her grey poodle Frisco, anything to do with the Italian Renaissance, and spending time with her friends and family.

This is one of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen of a couple--you're glowing! So, that's what love looks like...
Thank you for sharing your special people!
Aw, Robyn, thank you! Others tell us that we glow, too, even strangers we meet along the way. The wonderful thing about that is others begin to glow, too! Glowing is contagious!

I agree . . . you glow in the photo, but your words glow, too. You must be a super friend and family member. I love that you didn't limit yourself to just one person but gave kudos to lots of folks. I hope all of them read your post! Thanks for giving me joy this afternoon.

Thanks, Sandy! I am blessed with many wonderful people in my life. I have to tell you...did a double take of that handsome cowboy with you. He looks just like my older brother, who lives in Arizona!

Blessings to you both!

I haven't heard of the "Wicked Good" book before but you've sparked my curiousity. I'm going to check it out.
You are so right about the people in our lives that love unconditionally. They are the people that sustain us & feed our souls! Thank goodness your partner is one of those special people.

What a wonderful photo. You are truly blessed to have so many people and I am certain (even if I have only just met you via your words) they feel the same way. Having a Roger in your life makes all the difference.
