Loved Ones
Unconditional love is difficult to give. To do so, one must overlook all the imperfections, the bumps and warts, the eccentricities of their loved ones. This is not easy, but, some people come pretty close to loving unconditionally. If you are very lucky, they will share the path with you.
Roger is one of the dearest, kindest and most loving men in the world. He is one of the primary people on my list of Those I know and Love. Roger is my partner in life, a cheerleader when I need encouragement, and wise counsel when I need a bit of Sophic advice. Each morning begins with Roger greeting me with, "Good morning, beautiful!" Each evening ends with, "I am so blessed to have you in my life." You know, it doesn't get much better than this!
My daughters are at the top of the list, too, as are my grandchildren. Each is a gem like no other. Each brings me such joy!
I would be remiss if I didn't add my dear, dear friend Barbara to the top of the list. We have been friends since kindergarten. Together we have shared life's ups and downs with humor, grace and sometimes good old fashioned kitchen table wisdom. Barbara is my sister, my friend and my buddy. We are kindred spirits that found each other early on in life and never lost sight of how special it is to have a friend that, no matter what, loves us.
There are many family members (You know who you are!!) that love me unconditionally, as I do them. When we are together, we laugh so much our sides ache for days later. Sometimes, we cry, or get angry or talk on and on about something that frustrates us, but we always end up laughing. What a gift that is!
Finally, I have many friends who have blessed me with their love and support over the years. Some I have only known for a short period, others have been in my life since childhood. Some have lost touch with me over the years, but have found me through social networking! (I just love that.) Some I have met through cyberspace. We have not met physically, but we share our souls regularly, affirming each other and celebrating each others achievements.
Those we know and love make life precious. As they say back up in Maine, "It's wicked good to know ya!"
